Independent comparison framework
How to Compare Online GLP-1 Programs
A source-verified framework for comparing clinician-led online weight-management programs without rankings, ratings, or payout-driven recommendations.
Key takeaways
Starting price is not total cost
A low monthly figure may depend on a longer plan, introductory discount, medication choice, or prepayment. Ask for the full amount due and the next renewal amount.
Clinical review is a separate question
A licensed healthcare professional—not a quiz, platform, or comparison site—must decide whether a prescription or treatment plan is appropriate.
Medication models are not interchangeable
Ask whether the displayed option is an FDA-approved branded drug or a compounded drug. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved.
Unknowns should stay visible
Pharmacy names, laboratory requirements, state coverage, and refund rules are often incomplete or inconsistent. We label those gaps rather than infer an answer.
What online GLP-1 programs may include
An online program may combine a medical intake, clinician review, a prescription when clinically appropriate, medication fulfillment, shipping, follow-up messaging, dose-management support, coaching, laboratory coordination, and a recurring membership or treatment plan. Those elements are not standardized. Two programs using the same starting-price language may include different services, plan lengths, and consumer obligations.
Before enrolling, separate the program into three layers:
- Clinical care: who reviews your information, how you communicate with that clinician, and what happens after the first decision.
- Medication and fulfillment: what type of medication is offered, which pharmacy dispenses it, how it is shipped, and what happens if a shipment is delayed or arrives in poor condition.
- Consumer terms: the full price, plan length, renewal date, cancellation deadline, refund eligibility, and any charges that continue after a promotion.
Seven criteria to compare
1. Total program cost
Add consultation, membership, medication, supplies, laboratory work, shipping, follow-up, dose changes, and renewal charges. Record both the amount due today and the amount due at the next billing cycle.
2. Clinician eligibility review
Confirm that a clinician licensed for your location reviews your health information and makes the prescribing decision. Ask whether a video visit is always required, sometimes required, or replaced by asynchronous review.
3. Medication model
Identify whether each displayed price is for an FDA-approved branded medication, a compounded medication, or a choice between models. Do not assume a brand name mentioned on a site is included in the lowest price.
4. Pharmacy and fulfillment transparency
Ask for the dispensing pharmacy’s name and state license information, the expected shipping method, storage instructions, and the process for a warm, damaged, incorrect, or delayed shipment.
5. Follow-up and dose-management support
Compare access after the initial review: clinician messaging, scheduled visits, refill reviews, dose-management decisions, response times, and what support is included rather than billed separately.
6. State availability
Verify that the relevant clinician and pharmacy services are available in your state for the specific program and medication model. A national marketing statement is not a substitute for a state-specific confirmation.
7. Cancellation, refund, and renewal policies
Find the notice deadline, cancellation channel, effective date, renewal cadence, refund exclusions, and rules for multi-month plans. Save the terms shown at checkout because public policies can change or conflict.
Quick comparison table
The table summarizes current public disclosures, not treatment quality.
Advertised starting prices may depend on plan length, medication, dose, eligibility, and current promotions. Confirm the complete recurring cost and renewal terms before enrolling.

Questions to ask before enrolling
Use these questions in writing and save the answers:
- What is the exact amount due today, the full plan commitment, and the next renewal amount?
- Does the displayed price include clinician review, medication if prescribed, supplies, laboratory work, shipping, follow-up, and dose changes?
- Is this price for an FDA-approved branded drug or a compounded drug?
- Which licensed clinician or medical group reviews my information, and is a video visit required in my state?
- What is the name and location of the dispensing pharmacy, and how can I verify its state license?
- What follow-up can I receive from a clinician, how quickly, and at what added cost?
- Are laboratory tests required before enrollment or during care? Who orders them and who pays?
- Is this specific program and medication model available in my state today?
- What happens if a prescription is not issued, a shipment is delayed or warm, or the medication is damaged or incorrect?
- What is the cancellation deadline, how do I cancel, when does cancellation take effect, and what charges are nonrefundable?
FDA-approved and compounded-medication context
FDA approval applies to a specific drug product and its approved uses; it does not approve a telehealth platform or every medication a platform may advertise. The FDA states that compounded drugs are not FDA-approved and are not reviewed by the agency for safety, effectiveness, or quality before marketing. The FDA also recommends obtaining a prescription from a clinician and using a state-licensed pharmacy.
This guide does not decide whether a medication model is appropriate for a particular person. Ask the prescribing clinician why a specific option is being considered, whether an FDA-approved product could meet the medical need, and how the dispensing pharmacy can be verified.
How Care Path Compare evaluates providers
We apply the same seven questions to every provider, use official sources for consumer-facing facts, label missing information rather than infer it, and keep affiliate payout out of ordering and editorial treatment. This guide uses no score. Providers are listed alphabetically, and rankings remain disabled.
“Last verified” means the cited public page was reviewed on that date. It does not guarantee that a provider has not changed a price, policy, pharmacy, or availability after our review.
